Na sequência dos comunicados dos nossos companheiros da AFE – Sindicato dos futebolistas de Espanha e FIFPro – Sindicato Mundial dos Jogadores, o Sindicato dos Jogadores Profissionais de Futebol associa-se às mensagens de solidariedade para com Vinícius Júnior, vítima de sistemáticos insultos racistas em diferentes estádios da La Liga e redes sociais.

Apoiamos todas as ações legais a ser tomadas para identificar e punir os responsáveis por estes ataques, banindo-os dos estádios.

Tal como sucede frequentemente em Portugal, o pior dano para o futebol e para a sociedade em geral é o sentimento de injustiça, de ineficácia das sanções aplicáveis e responsabilização, de forma direta ou indireta, das vítimas.

Clubes, jogadores, decisores políticos e meios de comunicação devem agir com total intolerância perante qualquer comportamento racista ou discriminatório.

We stand together against racism and discrimination

Following the statements of our colleagues of AFE – Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles and FIFPro – World Players’ Union, the Portuguese Union stand together in solidarity with Vinícius Jr., a systematic victim of racist attacks, not only in the La Liga stadiums but also in social media.

We support all the legal actions to identify and punish the racist supporters, banning them from football stadiums.

As already happened in Portugal, the worst damage to football and society in general is the feeling of injustice, the ineffectiveness of the sanctions applied and the responsibility, directly or indirectly, of the victim.

Clubs, players, policy makers and the media must act on a single front with complete intolerance of any racist and discriminatory behavior.
